Listen, nobody wants to enjoy their Padres baseball and Cracker Jacks sitting next to some dude with a scorching fever. With that in mind, Petco Park has unveiled a special COVID-free “Vaccinated/Proof of Negative Test” section. The idea is to create a bubble of sorts containing baseball fans who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or can produce a recent negative COVID-19 test. It’s a way to pack in a few more fans while racheting down their anxiety.
These sections will be filled to a 67% capacity. The rest of the stadium’s fans will be required to sit in traditional 6-foot socially distanced configuration.
Vaccinated Section Requirements
If you are seated in these sections and are age 13 or older, be ready to produce one of the following to prove you have been vaccinated:
- Paper or digital copy/photo of CDC-issued Vaccination Card or documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider along with photo ID.
Full vaccination is defined as completion of the two-dose regimen of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson administered two weeks or more in advance of the Padres game to be attended.
Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test
If you refuse to join the population in getting vaccinated, you’ll need to prove your attendance does not introduce a great risk of spreading COVID
-19 to children and other vulnerable fans in the stadium and nearby San Diego community. You can do so by producing proof of a recent negative coronavirus test.
- Printed results or digital copy of email or text message from the test provider.
Testing is also available at Petco Park. Test results need to be received within 24 hours of the first game you are attending.
The Vaccinated/Negative Test sections are spread throughout the park and subject to change. Fans with tickets for seats in the “Vaccinated/Proof of Negative Test” sections must enter Petco Park through the Quidel Gate
