Convenient and fun, leave your car at one of the Park and Ride lots and hop on a Trolley to the Padres game. There are a few stations near the stadium.
Trolley Station Details: The stop closest to Petco Park: 12th & Imperial. But can also be easily accessed if you get off the trolley at the Park (12th) and Market stop or the Gaslamp Quarter Station (Fifth Avenue and Harbor Drive). Any of these three trolley stops will serve you equally well and without any hassles.
Trolley Lines: The 12th & Imperial Station, just steps from the Padres ballpark, is serviced by all three major trolley service routs: Green Line, Orange Line and Blue Line.
Cost: A round-trip ticket costs $5 and lasts all day.
Best Places to Park and Ride: Parking options include Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium and the Fashion Valley lot next to the mall. All parking locations work equally great.

From Old Town, take the green line. Its about 20-25 minutes and costs $2.50. For specific directions to Petco Park from wherever you happen to be, type in your starting point: Trolley Map.
