San Diego is one of the country’s most desirable places to run a marathon. The terrain is not too hilly, the population is overall well-conditioned and the weather is not too shabby either. And if you are looking for a landmark to serve as a starting point or finish line for a marathon or other races in San Diego, you could do a lot worse than Petco Park.

Padres Pedal The Cause Sunday, April 7, 2024
Padres Pedal the Cause is Curebound’s signature event, bringing together thousands of participants each year to raise money for collaborative cancer research. Hosted in partnership with the San Diego Padres, Pedal is San Diego’s most impactful fundraising experience with over $15 million raised to date in ten years to fund 78 innovative research grants in all types of cancer.

Participants can choose from one of three cycling courses, a 5K Walk/Run, 50 minutes of spinning, or a virtual experience. There is also a kids challenge for those aged 3-12. Active military and students are eligible to receive discounts on minimum fundraising commitments.

Parking: On event day, parking will be available free of charge in the Tailgate Lot adjacent to the ballpark entrance on 14th St between Imperial Ave and K St. If this lot exceeds capacity, participants will be directed to the 6th & K Parkade.

San Diego Half Marathon Sunday, March 24, 2024
The 13th annual San Diego Half Marathon and 5K, as well as a 2-person half marathon relay, all end near Petco Park. The scenic, half-marathon route follows Harbor Drive along Harbor Island, past the USS Midway aircraft carrier, through Liberty Station, Hillcrest, Balboa Park, downtown San Diego, finishing at beautiful Petco Park.

Hot Chocolate 15K / 5K Sunday, March 10, 2024
The Hot Chocolate course is known as San Diego’s sweetest race. The 5k and 15k routes for the 2024 Hot Chocolate 15k/5k San Diego start and end just a block from Petco Park, with a gluttony of sweet surprises along the way. Everyone wins!
