COVID Policy / Padres Face Masks

Though things were looking up thanks to high vaccination rates in our community, COVID-19 remains an issue in San Diego and around the world. The COVID pandemic is still happening. It is each individual’s responsibility to step up and do his or her part. Don’t let this site be the one to tell you that. Talk to your doctor or smartest friend. Protect yourself and others so we can keep schools, businesses and our beautiful sports venues open and send the coronavirus and all its variants to hit the showers for good.

Are Masks Required at Petco Park

Most events at Petco Park will follow the venue’s health and safety guidelines. These rules and policies are subject to change, as COVID conditions and variants require them. Here is the latest from the Padres organization.

In the meantime, please bring your masks / face coverings any time you visit Petco Park. Even if you are fully vaccinated. It is not required but strongly recommended. Especially for indoor facilities like the restrooms and especially for all the children in San Diego not yet old enough to choose to receive the vaccine. Everything you’ve been reading about the Delta and Omicron variants only intensify this urgent duty. Masks also reduce the spread of beer burps and hot dog breath nearly 85%.

Do you need to be vaccinated to attend an event at Petco Park? Again, defer to the venue and its latest policies. Science has overwhelmingly proven the benefit and efficacy of the COVID vaccines and boosters so if you are planning to be in a large crowd, sharing breath and personal space, its as great a reason as any to go get your shot. Please be on the smart side of history.

The Padres latest Covid Policy for 2022: Proof of vaccination and negative COVID test results are not required for concert entry. Facial coverings are highly recommended, but not required at this time.
